Spring Is Coming!

It's nearly spring!

We announced the very first events of our new spring berlin event platform last December. With the end of winter in sight, spring berlin is presenting another seven events from the digital and creative scene.

achtung berlin (13-20 April) has been running for 12 years and is Berlin's second largest film festival. Its focus is on films, documentaries and short-films produced partially or fully in Berlin and Brandenburg. achtung berlin shines a light on the creativity and innovation in Berlin's film scene and attracts local and international audiences. Another exciting event from Berlin's creative scene is COMICINVASIONBERLIN (16-17 April), which focuses on comic culture in Germany's capitol city and creates a space for exchanging ideas and networking for artists and publishers. Spring ushers in a new year and spring in Berlin features some brand new ideas. state of DESIGN, BERLIN (4-8 May) premiers with exhibitions, debates, a fashion show and much more. The event looks to analyse the structures, strategies and futures of design.

The second #unit Festival (16 April) will take place in April and is billed as the first queer tech event. Organised by UNICORNS IN TECH, the event is about increasing visibility and featuring ideas of queer people in the tech scene, as well as connecting communities. DNX - Digital Nomad Conference (7-8 May) offers digital entrepreneurs the chance to learn more about balancing work, travel and lifestyle, share their own experiences and exchange ideas during workshops and talks.

For the last 20 years, Karneval der Kulturen (Carnival of Cultures) (13-16 May) has been a staple of spring time in Kreuzberg. Its annual parade and multi-day street festival celebrates Berlin's cultural diversity. Jobslam (19 May) confronts the difficulties of integration and work opportunities for immigrants in Germany. This year, the event will emphasise the difficult situation faced by refugees. Participants are offered feedback and coaching, as well as expert talks on creating innovative possibilities in the working world.
