re:health

Health in the Digital Era. Our conference track “re:health” examines new avenues in health and healthcare. The various track sessions all focus on how society deals with the digitisation of everyday life, as well as the potential benefits – and potential risks – for people and their bodies. The track has been a fundamental part of re:publica conferences since 2009. In 2015 sessions included, for example, the use of 3D printers to create prosthetics in disaster areas, depression and the internet and handling sensitive medical data. Previous sessions also looked at digital developments in classic healthcare, therapies for autism and quality assurance for online healthcare information. Check out below for all sessions and news on re:health in the last couple of years.

In 2016 we offered interesting insights and ignited discourses on health in the digital era with topics such as the use and rights of health care data, digital menstrual cycle trackers, online therapy and other. Also we ventured into and experienced more about self-care.

Our programme team was joined by the annual World Health Summit for global health matters, our long-serving co-curator Tobisa Neisecke and journalist and re:publica speaker Shari Langemak. This incredible team curated your submissions and put together a diverse and interesting event.

"re:publica has always been about the cutting edge and presenting innovative digital projects of tomorrow. Health and health care, from digital health care services to 3D printing in disaster areas, will be discussed with passion and insight by an international audience of scientists, business people, change makers, NGOs, hackers and journalists."
ANDREAS GEBHARD
, Founder and CEO, re:publica

"The quality of healthcare, its accessibility and delivery depends more than ever on effective medical devices. Technological innovation and especially digitalization will improve the state of health worldwide – from revolutionary discoveries to small but agile implementations. I am looking forward to new ideas and concepts at this year’s re:publica in May and the World Health Summit in October."
