Short thesis: 

From Brazilian Gambiarra to African DIY and repair culture in Europa, makers are exploring more sustainable production methods around the world. This new mindset can contribute significantly to the drive towards a more circular economy and also to validate a creative work done in the peripheries of the world.

Description: 

The idea of manipulating, repairing or reusing everyday objects is present on maker culture specially on development contexts, as peripheries are a laboratory for inventions and survival. This session will explore more about the gambiarra culture in Brazil, DIY in Africa and repair culture in Europa as a creative inspiration for maker culture--- in order to use this maker mindset to promote a transition for more sustainable model.
