In the future humans lay eggs

Short thesis:

SciFi is there! Tech developments are fast. Nature strikes back. Often social changes just have to follow. In worst case with limited possibilities. Time for some new social space agency! Let's imagine future ways of living together as individuals, groups, societies. This is a talk about social fiction prototyping. About how to create playable situations that let (real!) people experience the consequences of possible future developments. A way to test, to fail, to iterate, to learn. And to shape the future. Pro-actively.

Description:

Sometimes science fiction becomes reality, faster than anybody ever imagined. In tech development, prototyping is a natural part of each development process. Often social developments have to follow technical innovations. In worst case then the possibilities of choice are limited.

Time for some new social space agency! How can we imagine new ways of living together as lovers, friends, families, companies and societies? More important: How can we swap imagining for MAKING and let our possible futures come alive so we can EXPERIENCE them?

This is a talk about social fiction prototyping: a way to design playable situations for real people. A way to create a ruleset that lets people experience the consequences of possible future developments. A way to test, to fail, to iterate, to learn. And maybe in a possible future, those play informed results might feed in the tech departments and also shape what is developed (and how). Social fiction prototyping might also help to inform politicians. Not only to understand what is going on in this vast „Neuland“ infused world, but also to enable them to evolve normative guidelines and regulations.
