Lea works as at the intersection of international development and digital rights as an independent policy advisor. Among other things, she currently works for German development agency GIZ focusing on the benefits of digital technologies for international development cooperation and digital rights. She is especially interested in the question on how to bring the next billion Internet users online and was an associate at the Berlin-based thinktank stiftung neue verantwortung where she conducted research on issues of internet freedom and net neutrality. Prior to her current work Lea developed and managed political campaigns for the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) at GIZ’s agency for political communications.
