Kurzthese:

Wearables made by a biodegradable material that you can learn how to grow in your own house! Yes, it's possible to grow a biological leather at home and with simple ingredients. And you can play with this material, building your own device. On this workshop we will interact with Kombucha fabric and use eletronics components to create a wearable that responds to the user's interactions.

Beschreibung:

The workshop starts with a short presentation on how to grow the biofilm Kombucha using simple ingredients as sugar and green tea. With this material we'll create a wearable, sewing electronic components as sensors and LEDs using conductive thread. For the interaction we will use the microcontrollers Lilypad, getting some data and transforming it in visualization.

The workshop will give people the chance to create their own device, cloth and accessories with a biodegradable material.  It will opens the mind to empower ourselves to change the way we relate with the industry and nature. Let's play with electronics on the fabric while we can not programme the biomaterial itself!

Note: 15 participants maximum. Please sign up at the GIG makerspace.  Sign up sheet will be available from the start of Day 1. Please come 10 mins before workshop. Participants will need to download the free DO app from the AppStore or Google Play.
