Shermin is the founder of the BlockchainHub, a Berlin based info hub & think tank focusing on topics like smart contracts, peer-to-peer economy & the future of democracy. She got her PhD in IT-Management at the Vienna University of Economics, where she used to work as an assistant professor and currently lectures blockchain related topics. Furthermore she studied film and drama in Madrid. Her past work experience ranges from IT-consulting, internet start-ups & filmmaking. Among others her films have screened in Cannes and at dOCUMENTA. Over the scope of 2 years she produced a monthly documentary series about democracy.  She is also the founder of Lilon, an internet based travel company, offering app-supported off the beaten track trips along the Silk Road.
