Norbert Kunz is one of the most prominent social entrepreneurs in Germany. For more than twenty years he has been advising and supporting founders of new businesses and has actively brought forward the development of social innovations as co-founder of several organizations. In his role as CEO of the non-profit business Social Impact he is focusing on the development of an infrastructure of social innovation and on the support of social startups. He initiated the foundation of the first Social Impact Labs in Berlin in 2011 and the launch of the first business incubation program for social startups in Germany. – Today, there are numerous labs and incubation programs all over Germany. Since 2007, Nobert Kunz has been an Ashoka Fellow. The Schwab Foundation awarded him as ‘Social Entrepreneur of the Year’ in Germany in 2010 and, in 2011, as ‘Social Entrepreneur of Europe’. In addition, he is a Member of the Global Agenda Council on Social Innovation, as well as of the European Commission Expert.

Norbert Kunz gehört zu den profiliertesten Sozialunternehmern in Deutschland. Seit über zwanzig Jahren berät und unterstützt er Existenzgründer und hat als Mitbegründer verschiedener Organisationen maßgeblich an der Entwicklung sozialer Innovationen mitgewirkt. Seit einigen Jahren konzentriert sich der Geschäftsführer des gemeinnützigen Unternehmens Social Impact auf den Aufbau einer Infrastruktur für soziale Innovationen und auf die Unterstützung von Social Start-ups. Die Gründung des ersten Social Impact Labs in Berlin 2011 zusammen mit dem ersten Business Incubation Programm für Social Start-ups in Deutschland waren der Anfang dessen. Inzwischen existieren bundesweit Social Impact Labs, an denen eine Vielzahl von Gründungsunterstützungsprogrammen läuft. Für sein Engagement wurde Norbert Kunz unter anderem als Ashoka-Fellow, von der Schwab Foundation als Social Entrepreneur des Jahres 2010 oder mit dem Sustainable Entrepreneurship Award mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Er ist Vorstands-/Beirats- und Mitglied in zahlreichen Verbänden und Instituten wie der Expertenkommission der Europäischen Union zur Social Business Initiative (GECES).
